Global WASH SPHERE Standards
The Sphere Project, now known as Sphere, was created in 1997 by a group of humanitarian non-governmental organisations and the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement. Its aim was to improve the quality of their humanitarian responses and to be accountable for their actions. The Sphere philosophy is based on two core beliefs:
Rural Water and Sanitation Information System (SIASAR)
SIASAR Global is a joint initiative initiated by the governments of Honduras, Nicaragua and Panama that quickly expanded to other regions. The strategic objective is to have a basic, up-to-date and contrasted information tool on the existing rural water supply and sanitation services in a country.
